Referral terms
Last updated: 17 October 2026
If the business you refer becomes a paying nopen customer, we'll email you a $50 gift card. These terms explain how that works. They are between you and NOPEN PTY LTD (ABN 84 684 923 653), Perth, Western Australia.
1. Who can take part
You must be 18 or over and live in Australia. Our directors, staff and contractors can't take part.
2. How a referral works
Get your referral code and link on the Refer and earn page. Then tell the business yourself, in your own words: in person, by phone, or in a message you write and send yourself. nopen doesn't contact the business for you, and we don't tell it who you are.
A referral counts when the business uses your link, or gives us your code, the first time it sends us its forms or asks us for a quote. If more than one person refers the same business, only the first code it uses counts.
3. When you earn a gift card
You earn one $50 gift card for each business you refer when all of these are true:
- the business hadn't already been a nopen customer, sent us forms or asked us for a quote before it used your code;
- the business pays its first nopen invoice in full within 6 months after it first uses your code; and
- that payment is not refunded in full or reversed within 14 days after it is paid.
A part refund doesn't affect your gift card.
4. When you get it
We email the gift card to the email address you gave us within 21 days after the business pays its first invoice. We use 14 of those days to check that the payment hasn't been refunded or reversed. We'll tell you only that you've earned a gift card, nothing else about the business. If it hasn't arrived after 21 days, email info@nopen.com.au.
Once we've emailed a gift card for a genuine referral, we won't ask for it back. Clause 5 explains when we may refuse or withhold a gift card before we send it.
The gift card is issued by a third party, not by nopen. Its own terms apply, including its expiry date, which is shown on the card or in the email. It can't be exchanged for cash.
5. When you don't earn a gift card
You don't earn a gift card for:
- a business you own, run or work for, or are connected to, or a business connected to one of those;
- a referral made with false details;
- a business that never pays an invoice (the free trial has no invoice);
- messages, shares, clicks or sign-ups on their own. We never pay for those. The reward depends only on a business that pays, and it never depends on you sending a message to anyone.
Protecting the program
Most referrals are genuine, and this paragraph doesn't change anything for them. We may refuse or withhold a gift card, or cancel one we haven't yet sent, if we reasonably suspect that the referral:
- is a self-referral, or involves a business connected to you;
- was made by misleading the referred business or nopen;
- involves a fake or duplicate business, or false or duplicate details; or
- otherwise breaks these terms.
We act reasonably and only where we have real grounds. If we refuse, withhold or cancel a gift card, we'll tell you the reason if you ask (email info@nopen.com.au). A refusal never affects a gift card we've already sent for a genuine referral.
6. Your messages
Tell people yourself, one to one. Don't send bulk or unsolicited marketing messages, don't use automated tools to send messages, and don't post your link or code in bulk or on public advertising sites. Australian anti-spam law applies to messages you send. We can refuse a gift card for a referral that breaks this clause, and we'll tell you why.
7. Health information
Please don't give us any information about your health or treatment. We only ask for the business's name and suburb. We never use a referral to collect information about a business's patients or customers.
8. Your information
We collect your name, your email address, and the business name and suburb you enter. If you are a customer of that business, the record can show it. We use this information to run the referral program: to record your referral, decide whether you've earned a gift card, and email it to you. We don't use your details to market to you unless you ask us to, and we don't tell the business who referred it. Our privacy policy explains how we keep information, who we share it with, and how you can ask to see or correct it.
9. Tax
You are responsible for any tax on a gift card.
10. Fairness and changes
We decide whether a referral is eligible, acting reasonably and in good faith, and we'll tell you our reason if we decline one. We can change or end this offer at any time. A change or ending applies only to businesses that first use a code after the change. If a business has already used your code, we'll treat it under the terms that applied at that time.
11. The law
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia. Questions? Email info@nopen.com.au.
